Baby Steps

Sometimes I get overwhelmed looking at others blogs. I think "Wow! Could I ever possibly articulate myself as well as that?" Or "How did they get all those awesome links?" or "how did they get those graphics"? (by the way, if you can help me with any of those....feel free to comment) But I enjoy blogging, and I tell myself it isn't for anyone in particular but myself (although I can't deny that I let out a small squeal when I get a comment because it makes me feel slightly a little more loved and because I hope to have conversations on my blog). I am excited about the possible conversations yet to be had by people I would never meet except if it wasn't for blogging. I love the mom blog thing and marvel at the voice we have on the Internet (June Cleaver would have a blog). I think it challenges me to be more real, which is always good.

So I just have to remind myself to take baby steps and not get scared off because we all have to start somewhere, right?

I occasionally read "Amy's Musings" and followed a comment you left over here to your blog. I started reading Amy's blog b/c I have three little ones under 3 and she did a little series on that while back that a friend pointed me to. I greatly appreciated the advice and have even begun to impliment some of it.
I just wanted to say "hi" and that I appreciated the perspective you shared regarding how we can be tempted to romanticize the past.

Ok, so I'll admit it. You're one of my favorites to read! I am sure I can spend my time a little more "wisely" but I find such comfort in the "MOM BLOGS". I can weed through all the chit chat and find advise, humor, wisdom and encouragement in the areas of my life that are needing it. In some ways, this way of communication is preferable than getting together at times, because usually we're just chasing kids, getting in a sentence or two. This way, we can learn from each other in the quiet of our office or whatever, at a time when it is convenient. You can't get that very often when you have little kids without getting AWAY from the family....and you can't do that everyday. Thanks for being honest. It is rare to have friends that you really can get inside their heads without interruption. I never knew about you, most of what you have written about. It is a treat to me to get to know you better in this way...Keep it coming. You've always impressed me with your "earthiness" and ability to write about life in ways that are interesting.
I'm bringing a new recipe for Sloppy Joes for dinner today and my 1st attempt at making home made buns....they kinda went flat on me.

Stacy~ I felt the same way but it has been fun to figure things out. I still would like to do more but I only have so much time and I use more than I should on my blog at times.
If you have any questions I can help you with, please just ask! I will help however I can.

It is so nice to have friends both in blogoland and close by.

Susie-you are so sweet and such an encourager. You speak volumes of truth about getting inside others heads and blogs are great for that. Like I said in person....it is nice to just put what you have to say out there and if someone cares, great, if not, you don't have to watch their eyes glaze over.

Kristine, thanks for the offer to help. I really appreciate it.

Stacy, thanks for the visit to my blog. I am still a newcomer to the blogworld and I haven't quite figured it all out either. It's kind of interesting, because what I THOUGHT I would enjoy writing about does nothing for me and other things I hadn't planned on capture my attention. I wish I could put great graphics/pictures up, but oh well. It's great to meet you!!
